Radalla Resort with its beautiful surrounding Finnish nature offers great opportunities for recreational outdoor activities.

The shallow lakefront is child-friendly and has easy access for swimming and stand-up paddle boarding. From the boat dock starts the pre-booked fishing and boat tours on the lake.

Iitti Golf golf course, “Kymppiranta” the most stunning archery range of Finland, and the public beach with a playground and beach volleyball court are all a short walk from the Resort. Furthermore, there is a brand new padel court in the resort area.

The access to the 8-km long Radansuu hiking trail is right on the Resort grounds.

There are various mountain and road biking trails in the area suitable for different difficulty levels. There are also organized trail trips including equipment.

Should you like to get to know the surroundings on a bike we have some regular bikes available for our customers to borrow free of charge, just ask from the reception.

If you are traveling by car, there’s many places of interest in the area – for example you might want to spend a day visiting in UNESCO World Heritage Site Verla mill village, Kimola channel, Repovesi national park, Tykkimäki amusement park, Mustila arboretum, Olgan Farmi petting zoo or Hiidenvuori natural hillfort.

In the winter you might want to try cross-country skiing, ice-skating, ice swimming, or hiking in the wintery woods.

In the summer some popular activities include golf, hiking, stand-up paddle boarding, padel, rowing on the lake, cycling, archery and fishing.

Padel

Padel has arrived on the shores of Lake Urajärvi – Radel Padel outdoor court was completed and opened in the summer of 2023. The court is located in the resort area at the end of the public beach.

Golf

Interested in a golf holiday? Next door to Radalla Resort is Iitti Golf, an 18-hole, well-maintained and scenic course between two lakes. The course is built on the land of the Niskaport farm, which has a history dating back to the 17th century. Book golf and accommodation packages

Other golf courses in the area include Koski-Golf – 20km from the resort, a par 73 course in the Kymijoki River landscape in Kouvola Kuusankoski, and Lahden Golf – 50km from the resort, a two-course complex in Lahti Takkula.

There is plenty of terrain around the resort and surrounding areas suitable for different types of cycling, both for self-bike tours and guided tours.

The resort has a few bikes for guests to use, available for hire from reception.

The Radalla Resort is a cycling-friendly destination. We have a national Welcome Cyclist sign.

Welcome to enjoy the fresh & clean waters on the Finnish lakeside. Radalla Resort is located on the shores of Lake Urajärvi in Iitti. The resort has over a kilometre of its own coastline. The easiest way to swim is from the sandy beach in front of the log cabin sauna or via stairs from the end of the ‘sandy pier’ or from the pier in front of the hut buildings.

SUP (Standup paddleboarding) is a form of water sports and leisure activity suitable for children and adults. Rent a board in advance or at the Resort’s reception during opening hours and set off on your own for an adventure in the natural beauty of Lake Urajärvi. There are also guided excursions for groups.

Sup-boards are available for hire during the summer season.

At the Radansuu public beach, next to the resort, you can play beach volleyball on the sand pitch maintained by the municipality. The resort has a few volleyballs, which can be borrowed from reception.

You can play Mölkky  a traditional Finnish throwing game that originated in Päijät-Häme region). and petanque in the resort’s courtyard. The yard games can be borrowed from reception.

Grab your skis and let’s go –
traditional skiing can be done on the track
at the resort directly from the yard on the ice of lake Urajärvi weather permitting.

There is a parking lot at the intersection of Uraventjärven and Arojärvenven.

There are several municipal-maintained trails of different levels and lengths in the Iitti area by the municipality for traditional skiing.

Should you require ski equipment or are a beginner when it comes to cross-country skiing we recommend going to a place that has pros when it comes to skiing techniques & equipment rental.

Experience winter nature in a new way – snowshoes take you to places you wouldn’t otherwise be able to go
access from the slopes. The resort is surrounded by excellent, varied terrain

snowshoeing can be enjoyed in the forest, in the paths and court yard areas and on the ice of the lake.

The resort has four adult snowshoes and two children’s snowshoes.

Try ice swimming while taking a sauna – at Radalla Resort you can enjoy a dip to the frozen lake all winter long in front of the log cabin sauna.

The resort and its surroundings offer a wide and varied range of hiking terrain for self-guided tours.

Hiidenvuori – a castle mountain shaped by nature. A short drive (17.5km) from the resort is one of the most spectacular natural sites in the area.

Repovesi is a stunning, scenic, four-season wilderness trekking destination suitable for experienced and novice hikers alike. The distance from Radalla Resort to Repovesi is 54km.

At the resort reception you can borrow snowshoes and kicksleds for your own hiking in the resort and nearby areas.
For longer hikes, snowshoes and hiking skis can be rented from Iitin Latu.

Guided hiking trips can also be organised with a local guide.

Luistelu Iitti

Put on your skates and hit the lake ice –
skating can be practised at Radansuu’s own ice rink, next to the Resort as well as at Ravilinna outdoor recreation centre (6km from the resort)

You can bring your own sledges and sliders or borrow one of the Resort’s
equipment at the reception desk.
Please note that sledges and
slides cannot be booked in advance.

Depending on the ice conditions, ice fishing on the Urajärvi ice in the immediate vicinity of the Resort. Bring your own fishing gear.

Lake Urajärvi has plenty of fish and there is a possibility to also catch pike perch.

The traditional Finnish kicksled offers a comfortable way to enjoy the winter scenery.
You can go kicksledding in the courtyard, along the resort’s walking paths or even on the ice of the lake.

Mielakka – Kouvola

Mielakka is a small ski resort, selected as the Local Slope of the Year 2021, about 2km from Kouvola city centre, about half an hour’s drive from Radalla Resort.

The resort has slopes for skiers of all levels.There is also a Children’s Land and a Snowpark. The area is also surrounded by a network of cross-country ski trails suitable for traditional skiing.

Messilä – Lahti

Messilä is one of the largest ski resorts in Southern Finland. The centre is located in the Salpausselkä region and is surrounded by beautiful forested ridges and Lake Vesijärvi. Messilä has a total of 10 ski slopes of which the longest is 800 metres long. There are also about 70 km of cross-country skiing trails in the area.
